Saving an Event as a Template & Reusing It

If you run the same kind of event repeatedly — a monthly meetup, a quarterly workshop, a chapter conference — save one well-built event as a template and start every future event from it.

Template vs. duplicate — which do you want?

Both start a new event from an existing one, and they live in the same menu, but they solve different problems.

Duplicate Template
Creates A new draft event, right now A saved setup you reuse later
Reusable One copy per action Unlimited events, any time
Lives In My Events as a draft In Event templates on your Dashboard
Best for "Run this again next year" "This is how all our workshops are set up"

If you just want one more event like this one, Duplicate is quicker. If you'll want ten more over the next year, save a template.

Saving an event as a template

  1. Go to My Dashboard → My Events.
  2. On the event card, click the Duplicate Event icon (⧉).
  3. Choose Save as template (the third option, below the divider).
  4. Give it a name you'll recognise later — the default is " template". Something like "Monthly Meetup — standard setup" is easier to pick out than a date.
  5. Click Save template.

The source event is untouched. Saving a template never changes, moves, or unpublishes the event you saved it from.

Creating an event from a template

  1. Go to My Dashboard → My Events.
  2. Find the Event templates panel near the top of the page.
  3. Click Use on the template you want.

You land in the new event's guided setup as an unpublished Draft, ready to change the name and dates before publishing.

What a template includes

Managing your templates

Templates are listed on your Dashboard under Event templates, with the date each was saved. Use the delete icon to remove one you no longer need — deleting a template has no effect on the events you already created from it.

Plan availability

Save as template is available on the Growth, Professional, Scale, and Enterprise plans. On the Free plan the option shows a Growth badge; you can still duplicate an event with the same dates and adjust it by hand.
