Email Templates & the Rich Editor

Under Communicate → Email Templates you do two things: save messages you send again and again, and add your own message to the confirmation emails.

Message in the confirmation emails

The card at the top of the screen holds one message that Planadar adds, as A message from the organizer, to the registration confirmation and to the ticket confirmation, above the QR code. Use it for what people need before the day: directions, what to bring, a parking note.

• The emails keep their own layout and details; only your message is added. Leave the card empty and nothing is added.
• {{attendee_name}}, {{event_title}}, {{event_date}}, {{event_time}}, {{event_venue}} and {{ticket_type}} are filled in for each person. Any other placeholder is left out of the email.
• Preview shows the block with sample data. Remove message takes it out of the emails you send from then on. People who already received a confirmation keep what they received.
• A message can be up to 4,000 characters.

Saved templates

Save a message you will reuse (a reminder, a thank-you, a last call) as a template. In the announcement composer, Insert a saved template fills the subject and the message with it.

• Templates use the same WYSIWYG editor as the announcement composer: formatting, lists, links and headings.
• When you create one, Start from a template pre-fills the subject and body from a starter set (registration confirmation, approval and denial, waitlist, reminders, thank-you, and the marketing starters Announcement and Last Chance / Final Call). Everything is editable after you insert it.
• The composer adds its own greeting and sign-off, so a template's own "Dear {{attendee_name}}," and "Best regards, The Team" lines are left out when you insert it.
• Placeholders an announcement does not fill (for example {{confirmation_number}}) are listed under the composer when you insert the template, so you can replace them before you send.
• Test Send emails a template to yourself.

What a template does not do

A saved template is never sent by itself. The registration and ticket confirmations, the approval and waitlist emails and the event reminders are Planadar's own emails with their own wording (the reminders are switched on under Reminders, see Automated Event Reminders). The one template they read is the message in the confirmation emails above.

Note: Existing plain-text templates are automatically converted to formatted content when you open them.
