Registration Funnel & Source Attribution
The Funnel tab in your Event Reports answers two questions: where do people drop off before registering? and where did my registrations come from?
Where to find it
Organizer Admin → Reports, pick your event, then the Funnel tab.
The registration funnel
Planadar tracks each step toward registering and shows the counts and conversion between them:
- Form views — someone opened the registration form.
- Started — they began filling it in.
- Completed — they finished registering (or bought a ticket).
- Abandoned — they started but didn't finish.
This is an honest form funnel — it measures the registration flow itself, not general page traffic.
Source attribution (UTM + referrer)
For each registration, Planadar records a first-touch source — the very first way that visitor arrived, captured the moment they land anywhere on the site:
- UTM tags you add to your links (
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign) — for example?utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=launch. - The referrer (the site they came from) when there are no UTM tags.
Because it's first-touch and stored for 30 days, the original source survives the round-trip through Stripe checkout and across tabs, and payment/login redirectors (Stripe, PayPal, Google, etc.) are never miscredited as the source. Direct visits with no tag or referrer show as Direct.
Tip: Add distinct utm_source/utm_campaign tags to every link you post (social, email, partners) so the Sources view shows exactly which channel is filling your event.
